City Doctors (not actual doctors) were back today to help Torontonians troubleshoot their urban ailments at two of their pop-up clinics. @lakeshorearts #culturedays
Thanks to everyone that came out to participate in @jacquiarntfield & @emilydicarlo's interactive installation for @howweliveincities at @bigonbloorfest this weekend!
Your contributions were thoughtful, hilarious and disarmingly sincere. We appreciate you 🌿🌻💚
Does a wistful Sarah McLachlan ballad take hold of your heart when you recall the Christmas cactus you floricided on accident by giving it water every time *you* got thirsty, thinking you were at least being equitable if not actually intuiting its needs?
I mean the answer is obviously yes, that was clearly a rhetorical device so don't bother answering but in all honesty sincerity: what, if anything, do you do too commemorate the loss of plant life? And furthermore: why as humans do we memorialize selectively?
It's this fundamental existential dilemma that steers Memorial Parkette, the playful participatory installation that @emilydicarlo & @jacquiarntfield have created for @howweliveincities at @bigonbloorfest this Sunday 12-3pm.
Come sit in the grass with our girls, draw a plant that you've loved and lost and add it to a growing community memorial!
