EQUΔLΔTERΔL was a Toronto based artist collective comprised of Emily DiCarlo, Jacqui Arntfield and W.J. Wilson, who created interdisciplinary projects with a relational, interactive focus from 2011-2017. Their projects often demand participation from the viewer, moving them from a passive role to one that is an integral part of the final work.
EQUΔLΔTERΔL produced and participated in numerous performances, exhibitions, residencies and festivals both locally and abroad, including, but not limited to: Culture Days, The Laneway Project, The Noise Project at 99 Gallery, NXNE Art & Music Festival, Box Salon series at The Rivoli, Art of the Danforth 2012, and Library Thoughts at Raday Konyveshaz & Gallery.
With a preference for exhibiting in non-traditional spaces and making site-responsive works, EQUΔLΔTERΔL’s projects made appearances in streetcars, laneways, vacant storefronts, bars, parks, music venues and private homes.
Their writing was been published in 1W3KND: On Social Practice and Collaboration, 48 Hours at a Time (Broken City Lab: Windsor, ON) and their performances have been featured in multiple volumes of Emergency Index (Ugly Duckling Presse: New York, NY).
